The Summer LAB at ALD is a specially designed fully equipped creative space where students can make it, program it, build it, draw it, touch it, cook it, and taste it. The Summer LAB at ALD teaches using a project-based experimental style that will work wonders for the student's knowledge, ability, and creativity. After learning the ways of The LAB, students will amaze and impress their peers and teachers with jaw-dropping displays of imagination and skill as well as Chinese language mastery.

Topics Studied In-Depth!
The Summer LAB at ALD is divided into several in-depth sessions, each of which focuses on an area of knowledge and art related to creativity and innovation such as electronics, wearables and textiles, coding, robotics and drones, edible inventions, rocketry and aerodynamics, chemistry and concoctions, and more.

The Most Productive Summer for Regular School Year ALD Chinese School Students!
The Summer LAB at ALD includes Chinese language booster classes focusing on reading and writing, and/or on listening and speaking. These intensive classes will also preview the curriculum of the upcoming regular school year ALD Chinese language classes so students will have a head start on their Chinese language studies. Students will also learn about the AP Chinese and SAT II tests so they will know what to expect when they take those tests. Get a jump start the on Chinese language learning at The Summer LAB at ALD.

Students in The LAB enjoy a spacious meticulously designed and equipped learning environment that includes several exciting spaces including a Technology Bar, a Movie & Animation Studio, an Electronics Workshop, a Science Lab, Game Space, and Multi-Purpose Room.

ALD Summer LAB vs. ALD Summer Camp
Both the Summer LAB at ALD and ALD's Summer STEAM Camp are very productive Summertime experiences. The Summer LAB at ALD covers eight topics in depth for older students. ALD's Summer STEAM Camp covers thirteen topics for younger students.
ALD's Summer STEAM Summer Camp is a full day program. The Summer LAB at ALD can either be full day or half day, depending on the students' schedule.

The Summer LAB at ALD is divided into two daily sessions: The Morning LAB from 9 am to noon, and the Afternoon LAB from 1 pm to 4 pm. While students get the best experience by attending both the Morning LAB and the Afternoon LAB, students have the option of attending just one of the LABs.
